TheaterFestival 2020

Op 3/09 schiet Het TheaterFestival uit de startblokken met de State of the Union en Youth, maar net iets anders dan anders, en vooral coronaproof... De State of the Union 2020 wordt uitgesproken door multidisciplinair kunstenaar en artistiek leider van DE MAAN Gorges Ocloo. De State of the Youth 2020 ligt in de handen van aanstormende talenten op en naast het podium Martha Balthazar & Khalid Koujili El Yakoubi.

ALL. is een muziektheater performance waarin Lisa Verbelen een poging doet iets groots (alles) te vatten. Alleen.
ALL. gaat over het feit dat alles complex is.

In ​The Journey​ onderneemt Anna Luka een zwartgallige reis door haar geheugen. Via een taal die geïnspireerd is door de lyriek van Faust en het gebroken Engels van de Urban Dictionary gaat ze beelden uit haar jeugd te lijf. Maar haar intentie is niet om te vergeten. ​The Journey​ is een zoektocht om het lijdende lijf te overstijgen. Want hoe anders vindt een slachtoffer de weg uit het slachtofferschap?

In Realtime we follow a theatre director trying to create a show about time. In ACT, Kris Verdonck explores various aspects of the relation between the human on the verge of disappearing in the work of Samuel Beckett. ACT approaches Beckett in three ways: with a monologue with Beckett texts (Stories and texts for nothing), performed by Johan Leysen, with a scientist, invited to react to Beckett and with an autonomous scenography, a possible landscape for a Beckett text.
