SCORES THAT SHAPED OUR FRIENDSHIP
»SCORES THAT SHAPED OUR FRIENDSHIP« is about togetherness.
It’s about attention for detail and fun. In playful interactions Lucy Wilke (she/her) and Paweł Duduś (they/them) explore the scope of their relationship: a friendship that defies traditional definitions and is shaped by poetic tendencies and a shared urge for sensuality. Interacting with live music by Kim_Twiddle (they/them), the performers paint an intimate portrait in seven chapters. This cocktail of personalities defies stereotypes and normative perceptions and offers the audience a glimpse of utopia – a vision of human interactions that prioritise tenderness, honesty and a dedication to authentically relate to one another.
The stage play was premiered in February 2020 at schwere reiter, Munich. The movie presented within the programme ENCORE, was shot in 2021 to be presented online with the Berliner Theatertreffen that year.
At 9 p.m., after the screening, ENCORE organiser Moussa Cheniguel will talk to Kaaitheater programme director Maria Dogahe.
The collaboration between Lucy, Pawel, and Melanie is grounded in deep trust, joy, and a shared commitment to relational art-making. What emerges between them is a rare creative chemistry—one that allows for artistic expression that is intuitive, free, and layered with depth and playfulness. They don’t force it; it unfolds naturally. This space of mutual care and creative safety becomes a fertile ground where they can laugh, cry, build, question, and improvise without fear or hierarchy.
Through this ongoing exchange, they enter into a process that is highly responsive and alive, generating work that is deeply embodied and emotionally resonant. Their collaboration continuously challenges and expands the boundaries of their individual and collective practices, opening new pathways for exploration and expression. This dynamic not only strengthens the process itself but directly benefits the growth and evolution of the final work.
They see their connection as both personal and political—an intentional, practice-based friendship that invites vulnerability, experimentation, and complexity. In working together, they create a space where risk-taking becomes possible, where ideas evolve through action, and where artistic innovation is grounded in care. The result is work that feels urgent, alive, and deeply connected to the present moment.
