CRIP zines selection by Speaking Volumes
An experimental collection of empowering and subversive publications by CRIP artists and activists
As part of ENCORE, a zine selection will be presented in the bar and available to read and listen to. The selection centers publications by and for CRIP artists, activists and people concerned by different kinds of disabilities. Some of the zines and contents will be accessible in multiple formats, paper thicknesses, font sizes, audio and digital versions. A special display will allow for many ways to pick and hold the books, make your own zines, suggest thoughts and references.
Access·ories is a a series of objects that support and subvert reading, raise questions of accessibility through accessories as portals for subversive stories. Accessibility is an overlooked dimension of publishing, despite its amazing potentials, not only in making things public, but also because it comes with a series of tools that expand forms of knowledge-making and storytelling in a fabulous way. Open up all your senses, activate your protheses, and let’s roll together through the audio tracks, the cyborg and paper pages…
