WINGS / The Drama of the Skies
Air battles
Two young men, one rich, the other middle class, are in love with the same woman. However, their priorities change soon enough: with the outbreak of the First World War, they both decide to sign up with the US Airforce.
Wings (1927) combines a romantic plot with impressive images of air battles from WWI. The movie (by William A. Wellman) won the very first Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Special Effects! Eric Sleichim and BL!NDMAN [drums] present this spectacular silent movie with a selection of percussion music from the 20th and 21st centuries, with turntables and live electronics.
BL!NDMAN for 50th anniversary of the Beursschouwburg
In 2015 the Beursschouwburg will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Hurrah! As part of the Mallemunt 88 festival this theatre organised the very first concert by BL!NDMAN. This new BL!NDMAN project enables the Kaaitheater to take part in the festivities.
