Attacks without consequences

exhibition
02.04.2015

Artist Pieter Van den Bosch created five publicly accessible fire constructions, including one during Festival Kanal in Brussels; five variations of ‘attack situations’, devoid of any intrinsic or other threat. This enabled the viewer to get as close as possible to the moment of the attack and the physical reality of the fire. Against the physical performance, a central focus of his exhibition is the opportunity to look at the images.

Under the heading Up in Arms, the commemoration of the centenary of the First World War was the thread that ran through the 2014-2015 Kaaitheater season. Tim Etchells, author, artist, theatre-maker and leader of Forced Entertainment, has throughout the season corresponded with other artists in the Up in Arms series about the thinking behind their productions. His final correspondence is with Pieter Van den Bosch.
