Liquid Room V (Subtilior)
Rediscovering music
Ictus has thought out a marvellous concert scheme called Liquid Room: the ensemble plays new and other music in an informal atmosphere. You wander from one of four stages to another in the main Kaaitheater auditorium, equipped with a cardboard seat, you listen from close up or from a distance, go out for a drink in the bar, and come back when you like. And paradoxically enough this relaxed atmosphere generates a more attentive audience that is pleased to discover new work and observe the musicians.
For this 5th edition, Ictus is inviting three members of the Beauté Parfaite ensemble from Vienna, which specialises in music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance: Thomas List (recorder), Theresa Dlouhy (vocals) and Eva Reiter (viol). Reiter is in fact also a composer and a first-class flautist and gamba-player. They will alternate new works and sophisticated polyphonic music from the 14th century (called Ars Subtilior).

Ancient music by Francesco Landini, Philippotto de Caserta, Johannes Ciconia, Antonello de Caserta a.o., new music by Franck Yeznikian, Christophe Guiraud, a.o.
