JDX A public enemy
A ‘public enemy’
JDX – A public enemy tells the story of an individual who opposes a social and political majority. A doctor discovers that the water in the city’s new spa is seriously polluted. His brother, the mayor, refuses to take action because of the severe financial consequences this would have. In the end the doctor is branded ‘a public enemy’ as the population believes its welfare is threatened.
In agitprop style, the performance examines the total lack of sincerity in a democracy, the dirty tricks, the lies, intimidation, the threatening of the population, intolerance... The role of the media and the pitfalls of democracy are discussed extensively.
On the eve of the federal elections and as part of their 25th anniversary, tg STAN will once again perform JDX – A public enemy, a piece the four STAN actors created in 1993.
