There is Nothing Wrong with People IV: Joy

Behind the affirmative title There is Nothing Wrong with People, but you cannot self-love your way out of systemic oppression' (TiNWwP) is a four-part artivist programme that advocates for mental health and social justice. 
This program explores how the personal is political, and the political is personal. It offers workshops, performances and talks that investigate how social conditions and mechanisms of oppression impact us. To counter the constant invisibilisation of marginalised voices, we choose to centralize personal stories and healing practices of people who experience systemic oppression.

We invite you, throughout this program, to actively participate in collective change and new codes of conduct, within and around yourselves. After this year of investigating our emotions and giving them space for anger, fear and grief to bloom collectively without judgment, we’re moving onto JOY. Yessss it is time to celebrate, babes!  Our two-day summer programme ends with a memorable Closing party - Joyful Joyful Joy.

• TiNWwP is curated by Johanna Couvée & Bouchra Lamsyeh and is a collaboration with Citylab Pianofabriek, Kaaitheater and a growing network of inspiring partners, healers, artists, activists. It was created with the support of the Vlaamse Gemeenschap and the Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie and with the presence of our beautiful audience.
