CASCADE
In CASCADE, Meg Stuart and seven dancers reset the clock, and challenge reality to reconfigure itself. Balancing on the edge of a world that is rapidly disappearing, they plunge their bodies into another dimension. They go in search of a secret passage, a future playground, a sanctuary. Disruption becomes a driving force. Running, falling and rising again, their bodies lose their bearings, while their principles are transformed and reconfigured. CASCADE is an unconditional surrender to what we do not know about the unknown other. Step into this free fall to the crumbling of time!
• The American choreographer Meg Stuart lives and works in Brussels and Berlin. Her company Damaged Goods as a long-standing collaboration with Kaaitheater, where she has presented the majority of her work. CASCADE is her first collaboration with the French scenographer and theatre maker Philippe Quesne – who over the past decade has also been a guest at Kaaitheater with his Vivarium Studio. Composer and musician Brendan Dougherty will perform live music.
A brilliant piece about time, about uncertainty, openness and solidarity. A perfect interplay of moving bodies with the music by Brendan Dougherty and the stage and lighting design by Philippe Quesne. – Tanzschrift
Fascinating meta-dance theater, which has its lengths, but it should have them, after all, it's about eternity, and as we all know, that lasts the longest. – Die Presse
