Organ & Dance
Organ music, dance and visual arts – for centuries there have been many enriching exchanges between these disciplines. In the spirit of this tradition, Bernard Foccroulle would once more like to enter into dialogue with contemporary art forms. He therefore invited the Spanish-Brussels choreographer Salva Sanchis to collaborate on a programme of baroque and contemporary music.
The performance premiered in the prestigious Musée des Augustins in Toulouse and can now be seen in the Église des Riches Claires near the Stock Exchange in Brussels. A surprising encounter between music and dance, choreography and improvisation, past and present.
Bernard Foccroulle is an organist and composer. He worked as a musician with the Ricercar Consort and from 1992 to 2007 was director of De Munt/La Monnaie opera house. Salva Sanchis graduated from PARTS in 1998. He has created choreographic work for Rosas (including A Love Supreme, to music by John Coltrane) and for his own ensemble.
