Life and Times -Episodes 3 & 4
A simple question
Message to fans: Nature Theater of Oklahoma (NTO) are back again with episodes 3 & 4 of their epic serial saga Life and Times. So this should fit the bill!
For those of you who missed the first episodes:
1) You can follow this double episode perfectly without having seen the first.
2) Life and Times is based on the transcript – word for word – of more than 16 hours of recorded telephone conversations with one of the members of the group. She was asked the simple question: ‘can you tell me your life story?’ Sounds boring, but the performances are anything but.
3) Life and Times is a patchwork of stories, anecdotes, thoughts and ideas of someone looking back on her life, at moments that have made her who she is. A very ordinary life. You will inevitably recognise much of it in your own. Or maybe you’ll think back to Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past or George Perec’s Je Me Souviens.
4) Episodes 3 and 4 encompass the high school years of young adulthood (14-18 years) with their longing for freedom, getting away from the ‘prison’ of family life, a time of rebellion and experimentation, a time of great drama. This time no musical or stilted dance moves, but a real 'locked room' thriller in the fashion of Agatha Christie's The Mouse Trap.
Don’t say afterwards that you didn’t know!

troupe on the New York avant-garde scene, aims to please – and does so
