Oco2: En Entamant
Alexander Nieuwenhuis recently went to Colombia to construct a completely auto-sustainable and mobile theatre-space with the National University of Colombia. It would weigh less then 100 kilos, could be transported by bike and would be powered by solar panels. Incredible! For Nieuwenhuis it would be a study of another aesthetic, another way of perceiving culture. He entered into dialogue with the indigenous people and gathered their incredible stories about all sorts of things. You can hear from the man himself how far his research took him. You will cycle with him to his inflatable theatre somewhere in the Brussels area. Starting from the Kaaitheater.
• Alexander Nieuwenhuis graduated from the Herman Teirlinck Institute in 2009. His work explores the boundary between art and craftsmanship and focuses on such topics as sustainability.
