As a pampered Flemish-Belgian migrant to the Netherlands, the poet and writer Geert Buelens surveys the world of right-minded artists and wrong-minded policy-makers, of crisis taxes and sponging. His piece will be read by the actress Elsie de Brauw (NTGent).

• Geert Buelens lectures in Dutch Literature at the University of Utrecht. His area of research is among other things literature and the Flemish Movement in the First World War period. In Europe, Europe he describes the life and work of the major European poets at the time of the Great War. In 2010 he received the Ark Prize for Free Speech for his works of criticism, including a series on the responsibilities of the media.
