Greening Cities
Cities occupy less than 1% of the earth’s surface, but are home to half the world’s population and are responsible for more than 75% of global energy consumption and 80% of the output of greenhouse gases. This gives cities a huge responsibility when it comes to climate change. At the same time, these same cities and the networks they form are also our best hope of efficient and effective action. How are the major cities tackling this? And what role is there for art and culture?
