Accords
Danced music
Over the last ten years Thomas Hauert has, both at home and abroad, shown himself to be a choreographer with a voice of his own. His latest piece, Accords, is an abstract choreographic composition that one experiences like a piece of music. The dancers physically transpose, amplify or distort the dynamics, harmony, melody and counterpoint in their bodies. Their movements make the audience listen to the music differently.
In an exclusive for the Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Thomas Hauert is incorporating into Accords passages from 12/8, a work he created for the 21 final-year students at the PARTS dance school in Brussels. In that piece he examined the relationship between dance and music when an exceptionally large group of dancers is involved.
