The Quiet Dance
Choreographer Jonathan Burrows has an international reputation for the intelligence, humour and musicality of his work. He has had a long association with Kaaitheater including performances of Things I Don't Know in 1999 and the acclaimed Weak Dance Strong Questions with theatre director Jan Ritsema in 2001/2004.
Burrows has been collaborating with composer Matteo Fargion for over 15 years. Their last piece Both Sitting Duet opened at Kaaitheater in 2002 and has since toured to 17 countries and won a 2003 New York Dance and Performance 'Bessie' Award. At the heart of Burrows' and Fargion's work is a love of rhythmic form and the quiet intensity of communication; this allows them to share with each other and with the audience. The Quiet Dance is just what it says it is.
