Locations

While we're redeveloping the Kaaitheater building on Sainctelettesquare, our programme is being hosted by theaters and partners in and around Brussels. From September to December 2024, you'll find us at the locations underneath.

rue Gallaitstraat 76-78
1030 Schaarbeek

Our new favourite neighbour. Its name refers to a time when many ‘kriekelaars’ (sour cherry trees) were all over Schaerbeek. Today, De Kriekelaar and Brussels collective ‘Buumkwekers’ have replanted more than 350 trees in many gardens in Schaerbeek in an attempt to bring the tree back.

O.L.V. van Vaakstraat 81 Rue Notre Dame du Sommeil

This has been our beating heart of creation and presentation since 1983! The Kaaistudios are located in the former brewery Étoile. Did you notice the elephant on the façade — the first Kaaitheater logo?

Boulevard Anspachlaan 110

We’re sure you know AB as one of the most famous concert halls of Belgium, but did you know we used to be roommates? In 1990, after years of noise complaints, Ancienne Belgique was forced to move to do extensive renovation works and temporarily moved into the Lunatheater building, where we made our permanent home. After six years, they said goodbye and moved back to the centre, but we are still good friends to this day.

You can find all the accessibility information about the AB here.

Our programme
Willem Lambertstraat 10
1930 Zaventem

This cultural centre was constructed in 2014 on the foundations of the old Suchard chocolate factory. With its green roofs, geothermic heating and circular material use, the building is an icon of sustainability.

Do you use a wheelchair, are you deaf/hard of hearing or blind/do not see well? Contact CC De Factorij at 02 307 72 72 or send an email to info@ccdefactorij.be. They can make accomodations and/or give you additional information. For more information concerning accessibility (in Dutch), you can click here.

Looking for lunch? Get a ‘behind the scenes’ feeling in KVS’ bar, a bit hidden on the first floor of their building at Arduinkaai/Quai aux Pierres de Taille. Throwback: Kaaitheater’s first ground-breaking festival editions back in the seventies took place behind KVS!

Our oldest partner in crime; the collaboration between Les Halles and Kaaitheater goes back to the 1980s. The area around this former covered marketplace has a lot to offer, including Estaminet — an old small bar in the beautiful garden of La Maison des Arts.

The Varia building had several lives before becoming a theatre. Constructed in 1900, it has functioned as an opera house, a cinema, a community hall and a car workshop/garage.

‘At Théâtre Varia, we ask you to notify us in advance if you are less mobile, visually or hearing impaired. We are aware that our facilities are not yet fully autonomous, but we are actively working to improve them by the end of autumn. In any case, we will be happy to welcome you with the appropriate assistance.

Théâtre Varia has a disabled toilet.

Unfortunately, our current facilities in Studio Varia are not accessible to people with reduced mobility from the stairs leading to the auditorium.’

You can contact Théâtre Varia on 02 640 35 50 or email info@varia.be.

Next to Westrand lies the Sint-Alenapark, named after a saint from 7th-century Dilbeek, who was known for her healing miracles. You can still address her for your toothache and eye problems.

Disabled parking spaces are located near the entrance. Toilets are located at the end of the corridor next to the theatre on the ground floor.

Westrand provides special seating in the theatre for wheelchair users and the visually or hearing impaired. Notify them of your arrival on 02 466 20 30. Staff will accompany you into the theatre.
