Sea is for Stories, Tea is for Telling
Sea is for Stories, Tea is for Telling is the annual storytelling programme carried by the community of artists, art-lovers and cultural workers in and around Globe Aroma. We explore which stories we share, which ones get lost, and which remain (as yet) unspoken. Who is heard? Which stories are erased at borders or silenced by Europe’s migration policies? And how do we break that open? How do we keep the art of storytelling alive, from oral traditions to new performative forms?
Stories move, just like people, across borders. Stories emerge on the way and within communities that continuously reinvent themselves. Together, we investigate how stories can become care, resistance and solidarity, and how they can help us imagine different ways of living together.
During the first week of December, we invite you to listen, tell, write, pass on, doubt, weave thoughts, eat and imagine together with the many people who walk through Globe Aroma’s doors. Expect performative try-outs, speculative writing sessions, dinners in Globe Aroma’s studio, intimate storytelling moments, and dancing stories that stretch borders and build communities.
We stand united in solidarity across all borders. 👊🏾
