De vrouw die zich verslikte in haar ondergoed (en andere onwaarschijnlijkheden) [5+]
A playful invitation to explore together how we see.
I see...
...a house with a hole in the floor and a washing line.
Who lives in that hole?
I see a staircase with a door.
What is behind it?
I see a bit of sticky tape with a string attached to it.
What is this?
A cloud?
A crumpled flag?
A lost poodle?
A collection of found objects meets a collection of absurd stories.
Greet Jacobs and Salomé Mooij collected all sorts of forgotten objects and with them, built landscapes. These were then shown to children all over Flanders and who sought names for the little worlds and made up stories. The recorded voices melted into a composition that leaves no one untouched.
Accompanied by the choir of children's voices, we explore miniature worlds and spaces where nothing is what it seems. It is a journey through the minds of children, through their stories and doubts.
A poetic and visual performance that sees itself as a composition about daring to look and imagine without right or wrong.
• In recent years, Greet Jacobs created and performed in several productions by DE MAAN ('Owlskuiken en Takkeling', 'Bonte Nacht', 'Raya' and 'Planet Nivanir'). She has since 2020 been part of the artistic core of the company, but she also works with Studio Orka, BRONKS, hetpaleis, Ballet Dommage, Compagnie Cecilia,... For this production, she is working together with Salomé Mooij, known for visual and figurative theatre with her collective Dividu.
Greet and Salomé find each other in their fascination for a visual universe where frivolity, playfulness and poetry go hand-in-hand. In creating this performance, they start from a common desire to 'teach' people to look and imagine again. In doing so, they effortlessly blend visual art and theatre.
