“For me, beauty exists in insubordination.” From Bristol to Seville and from Haiti to Marseille, the Rwandan and British artist Dorothée Munyaneza weaves together the intimate journeys of six black, African or Afro-descendant artists. In this choral and sculptural show in which costume provides a common thread on the stage, these women are inhabited by a collective force that makes their encounter possible. "Free, daring and bearers of the stories of marginalized peoples," they dance, sing and proclaim the memory of mixed histories. This emancipation unites them in a world where they will never stop being sovereign, between anger and gentleness.

• The work that musician, author and choreographer Dorothée Munyaneza (Kigali, 1982) creates has a certain fire. She starts from reality and seizes memory and the body, both individual and collective; to speak out and bring the voices of those who are silenced; violence against women, racial inequalities. To make the silences heard and to see the scars of History. Recently, Dorothée Munyaneza performed at the Kaaiscene in Radouan Mriziga's solo Akal. We are happy to welcome her back, this time with her own work.
