Tactile Talk
How can we speak to each other without words? What does this time of not touching teach us about contact? How much proximity is there in distance? Tactile Talk invites you to join a game in in a landscape of foam rocks. Place a rock, make eye contact, follow, take charge, stand back and watch the image emerge. The space between us is questioned and made visible through interactions with each other and with the foam rocks.
Tactile Talk is a meeting, a silent conversation about making contact, setting boundaries, noticing what moves us and what moves between us. It is a visual game, and a social choreography in which you investigate distance and proximity.
• Katrien Oosterlinck studied Dance Theatre in Tilburg and Open Atelier at Sint-Lucas in Antwerp. By means of performative workshops, she focuses spectators and participants on physical experience and plastic arrangement. Her practice is not only about social interaction, but also about creating images through that interaction. It is the first time that she is on the programme at Kaaitheater.
