The Greatest Show on Earth
The Greatest Show on Earth is about who speaks - and who does not; who stands in the spotlight – and who stands backstage. Because history is not fixed, but is always about who writes, designs and narrates it. And especially about who is part of it – and who is not. This production is an interplay of entering and exiting. Of people who try, invent, hope, reflect, express, and forget. Louis Janssens and Timo Sterckx used the book Europeana, a Brief History of the Twentieth Century by Patrik Ourednik to make a production about history, about graduating, about beginning. It might be a very long story.
• The Greatest Show on Earth was Louis Janssens’ and Timo Sterckx’ graduation production at the KASK in Ghent, and it was selected for Jong Werk TAZ#18. We are welcoming these young theatremakers to Kaaitheater for the first time.
