Hyperconscious of your senses

In this solo, Benoît Lachambre again asks you to listen to your senses and genuinely to experience the consciousness of your body. Departing from fixed aesthetic codes, he enters the field of our sensations and the realm of the instinctive. You play an important role as a viewer in the intimate space that Lachambre creates. Borders between – and definitions of – dance and movement gradually blur when a glance, a movement, or the touch of someone in the audience continues to resonate in the choreography. Lachambre creates a subtle connection with his viewers. In the meantime, he puts you in a playful trance centred on conscious vulnerability and concrete embodiment.

• Improvisation and the hyperconsciousness of your senses are always central to the work of the Canadian dancer and choreographer Benoît Lachambre. Previously, we have presented Forgeries, Love and other Matters (2008) – for which he won a New York Bessie Award along with Meg Stuart and Hahn Rowe – and Snakeskins (2012), in cooperation with the Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
