A Broadcast/Looping pieces
In 2014 Tim Etchells is appearing in different forms at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts: in the public space with his poster project And For The Rest, in the exhibition space with Order Cannot Help You Now, and finally, on stage with A Broadcast/Looping Pieces. In the seclusion of the theatre, Etchells presents a performance in which he lends an insight into his creative process. The material comes from his own notebooks: a chaotic collection of writings collected over the years. Fragments of text – ideas, word games, copy-paste clips from news reports and websites, twisted thoughts, overheard conversations, quotes, longer stories, etc. – are remixed. Alone on stage, the artist cuts his own memory into bits and puts it back together again in new arrangements. At lightning speed, the scrapbook cacophony develops into a remarkable experiment. A generous session of improvisation!
