Not a mirror but a magnifying glass
Ha, Discordia! Their casual approach to the repertoire, the ‘thoughtful’ acting style, and the expressive quality of their work has all left its indelible mark on today’s theatre! In Hollandse Bergen they will be presenting a new episode in their Stansislavski cycle. ‘A performance about undeniable differences’ is how it is described in their publicity, and they give the performance a motto inspired by Mayakovski: ‘Nature doesn’t hold a mirror to you but a magnifying glass’.
It is a Discordian collage performance with thanks to Bruno Schulz, Konstantin Stanislavski, Vsevolod Meijerhold, Yevgeny Vagtangov, Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Mayakovski, Vladimir Tatlin, Maurice Maeterlinck, Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, Adolphe Appia, Jerzy Grotovski, Etienne Decroux and others. Great people! Great company!
