Field Works-hotel
A dreamy, absurd in-between world
In their intimate and playful performances, the Brussels artists Heine Avdal (Norway) and Yukiko Shinozaki (Japan) set out in search of the poetry of the everyday. Through tiny shifts in reality they create a dreamy, absurd in-between world. In October they presented the wonderful Field Works-office: a performance set in an office where computers and fax machines led a life of their own, piles of paper were blown through the air and you yourself became part of a fictitious marketing company. During Performatik we will be presenting Field Works-hotel: a performance for just one spectator at a time. You will be immersed in the mysterious past of an ordinary hotel room. Are you really here all alone or can you feel the room breathe? Will you remain a silent spectator or will you become a character in a story?
