The seventh generation

In June a new generation of dancers and choreographers will be graduating from P.A.R.T.S., the international dance school headed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. This group of seventh-generation students comprises 20 dancers and choreographers from 13 countries. The students will present their own work in the Kaaitheaterstudio’s. They have worked on these creations for three months, individually or in groups of two to four and under the supervision of a coach. These works may be supplemented with earlier work. The choreographic pieces span every possible permutation between pure dance and performance, between theatre and multimedia, between the world of video games or pop music and international politics. A new generation of choreographers will take its first steps on the public stage.

The programme also includes 12/8, a choreography by Thomas Hauert for all final year students, which is a complex system of movement based on a song that is only sung in the minds of the dancers.
