Met een partner zit je zij aan zij in de studiezaal van Muntpunt. Via een koptelefoon en een schriftje, geeft een stem gefluisterde instructies om je doorheen een stapel boeken te gidsen. Het is een intense, intieme ervaring van één uur lang, te midden van werkende studenten en lezende bibliotheekgangers. Het unieke naratief dat zich zo voor ieder duo ontplooit, legt de vreemde magie bloot in het hart van elke leeservaring.
• Ant Hampton is gekend voor zijn Autoteatro-werken: geautomatiseerde structuren waarin je tegelijk toeschouwer bent, als instructies volgende performer. The Quiet Volume – ondertussen vertaald in tien talen – maakt onderdeel uit van een reeks samenwerkingen met Forced Entertainment-directeur Tim Etchells.
