Dans DISQUIET – sensational aesthetics of a technokin, Lisa Vereertbrugghen se penche sur les tendances à la perturbation et à la dystopie qui imprègnent certains des différents sous-genres de la techno hardcore comme le gabber, le hardstyle, la jungle et la drum'n bass. Tous ces sons se caractérisent par une intensification de la basse et de la batterie, une vitesse minimale de 160 BPM et une tendance à la perturbation du flux. En se concentrant sur ces ruptures, pauses et éclats sonores, DISQUIET explore la manière dont ils peuvent informer et stimuler le corps. La danse hardcore est présentée comme une rupture avec la structure, offrant un espace pour l'invention et l'émergence d'un ailleurs alternatif, un "autrement" qui perturbe, secoue, brouille et désorganise l'ordre établi. Un lieu de reconfiguration.
