Quand nous lisons, nous faisons des choix. Nous traduisons ce que nous lisons vers le langage de notre propre existence. Un roman comme Anna Karénine de Tolstoï peut aussi être la collection des vies qu'il a changées, en bien ou en mal. Tiago Rodrigues écrit pour la première fois un texte de théâtre pour tg STAN : The way she dies jette un pont entre les acteurs du Teatro Nacional et de STAN.
Les acteurs de STAN rencontrent Tiago Rodrigues pour la première fois en 1997 : tout jeune étudiant à l’école de théâtre à Lisbonne, il suit un de leurs ateliers au Centro Cultural de Belém. Un an plus tard, il les rejoint sur les planches pour Point Blank, une adaptation de Platonov de Tchékhov. Depuis, STAN travaille régulièrement avec Tiago Rodrigues.
• Tiago Rodrigues – directeur du Teatro Nacional depuis 2015 – était à l’affiche du Kaaitheater avec Yesterday’s Men (2008) et By Heart (2016). Plus tôt dans la saison, il présente aussi Antony en Cleopatra, tandis que STAN propose une représentation marathon de sa trilogie Bernhard.
