FLOU

theatre
22—23.03.2012

A man and a woman at the edge of the stage. She begins a dialogue on her own. In this new show – the second she has created for Toneelhuis – Abke Haring intensifies her search for a balance between silence and the spoken word. Now she zooms in on two characters who share an undigested piece of history. A duet. A duel.

• At Studio Herman Teirlinck Abke Haring impressed people with her final-year project Nageslachtsfarce/genocide. Since then she has continued to combine writing and acting. Her plays include Hope (selected for Theatre Festival 2006), Linoleum/speed (premiered at Kaaistudios in 2009) and Hout. She has starred in productions by Luk Perceval, Josse De Pauw, Guy Cassiers and others. De Standaard newspaper described her part in Bloed & rozen as ‘probably the best acting performance of the year’.
