Spoken World 10

Festival

In Spoken World, the Kaaitheater invites artists and authors who express their ideas on the present state of the world in fiction and non-fiction. The theme this time is mobility and identity. Globalisation has brought a huge expansion in travel possibilities, but this also has ecological consequences. While we move freely around the globe, there are large groups of people who are driven from their country or who decide to emigrate for political, economic or climatological reasons. How do increased mobility and the acceleration of life influence how we experience our existence? How can we define and safeguard our individual character in this global multicultural community? I think, therefore I am. I travel, so who am I?

Spoken Bookshop
De Groene Waterman bookshop in Antwerp has chosen a fine selection of books on the topics dealt with in the festival. On sale before and after the performances at the Kaaitheater.
