It's about us
Iet's Extra provides an informal get-together outside or after a show, performance or event. Every season we ask some performers: what do you need to make your universe just that little bit more complete? Anything goes!
For the closing event of this Kaaiseizoen, Pankaj Tiwari will transform the garden of GC De Kriekelaar into a playful meeting place before and after the performance Paper Planes. Artists, temporary and local residents will gather here to celebrate Rest, Care, Joy and Fulfillment. These four elements divide the space. For instance, there is a TENT where you can sleep, read a manifesto, drink coffee with your friends... In addition, you can go to the Sweat Dreams, a sauna initiated by Tristero vzw, Kaaitheater and GC Kriekelaar.* A concert by Floèmee and a long dinner table** led by culinary artist Sankrit Kulmanochawong complete the poster.
Ultimately, in all our desires - for solidarity, engagement, community or equality - caring for each other is the common thread. It's about us!
Programme:
16u: TENT + Sauna open
18h-20h30: dinner by Sankrit Kulmanochawong

**For dinner, ‘pay what you can’ applies
• Pankaj Tiwari is a contemporary artist, performance maker and curator from Balrampur, India, currently based in Amsterdam. His work brings Eastern perspectives to Western discourse on socio-political issues. Pankaj's work has been presented at Holland Festival (NL), DE SINGEL (BE), wpzimmer (BE) and radialsystem (DE), among others. TENT is a mobile institute that Tiwari created in collaboration with artist Nick Verstand. The hybrid, contemporary space invites people to think, to imagine, to listen and, above all, to rest. TENT has existed since 2021, but now feels the need to stop itself and so TENT will exist as an institution for the last time in De Kriekelaar.
• Floèmee consists of musicians Nazanin Yalda (Iran) and Alex Recio (Spain). They cross traditional Iranian folklore with electronic music. They combine Sétār, an Iranian string instrument, with vocal melodies and electronic equipment. Influences from ambient, experimental music, world music, noise, IDM and breakbeat seep through.
