DreamCity: From Tunis for Brussels
This spring, KANAL-Centre Pompidou welcomes the first Brussels edition of the Dream City festival. Founded by dancers Selma and Sofiane Ouissi in 2007, this independent event takes place every two years in the Medina of Tunis. An artistic hub between the Arab world, Africa, and Europe, Dream City addresses current issues such as migration, emancipation, human rights, and the climate. The festival is known for its collaborative approach to programming: the programme results from close and long-term collaborations between the artists, the city, and its residents.
The artistic team of L’Art Rue, the organisation behind Dream City, showcases a selection of performances from the last three festivals. The programme features dance, performances, talks, music, and films.
Artists and contributors: Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Heba Y.
