Salon #9: Developing Practices Together
Modern society has weakened our skills of cooperation needed to make a complex society work, writes Richard Sennett in Together. In experimenting with collective practices, the performing arts hold perhaps a promise for society. What are the preconditions for developing practices together? How do we organize work and spend our time? Can alternative monetary systems create a different productional and temporal frame for collaboration in the arts? How can artistic experiments with cooperation find a wider resonance and nurture alternative social and political fictions?
In the salon, the artists Sara Manente, Anna Rispoli and Michiel Vandevelde will enter into dialogue around these questions. Jeroen Peeters moderates.
