Toneelschrijfprijs 2023
The Toneelschrijfprijs 2023 awards the author of the best original Dutch-language play that premiered between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. The prize, which carries a sum of 10,000 euros, gives an author the opportunity to further develop their writing. The aim of the Toneelschrijfprijs is to highlight and stimulate the art of Dutch-language playwriting and the performance of Dutch-language plays.
The Toneelschrijfprijs is a collaboration between the Taalunie, Literatuur Vlaanderen, the Nederlands Letterenfonds and the Fonds Podiumkunsten and is supported by the Lira Fonds and deAuteurs. The practical organization falls alternately in the hands of Literatuur Vlaanderen and the Dutch Foundation for Literature, together with the Performing Arts Fund. In 2023 the organization will be in the hands of Literatuur Vlaanderen. More info on the previous editions of the prize and on the laureates can be found here.
This year, the jury of the Toneelschrijfprijs consists of Nyiragasigwa Hens, Rachida Lamrabet, Dennis Meyer and Els Van Steenberghe (chairman).
