Magyar Tàncok
The Hungarian dancer and choreographer Eszter Salamon has been a guest at the Kaaitheater several times in recent years, in her own work and with Xavier Le Roy. Until she was twenty and while studying classical dance, she performed traditional Hungarian dance, part of the family heritage. In Magyar Tàncok she links back to this tradition. She has invited her mother plus several dancers and musicians and goes in search of the roots of her work, more specifically the improvisation techniques she learnt as a child.

East of Brussels
Où commence l’Est ? Dans les Cantons de l’Est ? En Allemagne ? Pour les Allemands, il commence en Pologne. Pour les Polonais, il commence en Russie. Et pour les Moscovites, est-ce au Kazakhstan ? Personne n’habite à l’Est, l’Est, c’est toujours où vivent les autres.
À nos yeux, quel est le point commun entre tous ces lieux situés à l’Est ? Le fait qu’ils soient étrangers ? Étrangers et inconnus ?
L’idée d’East of Brussels est d’aller chercher cet inconnu – mais pas moins captivant pour autant – et de le faire venir à Bruxelles au moyen d’un certain nombre de spectacles. Les montrer pour avoir été créés « à l’Est », mais surtout parce qu’ils sont bons et qu’ils ont une approche singulière de l’histoire (ART&SHOCK), de l’architecture (Deufert+Plischke), de la tradition (Les SlovaKs, Eszter Salamon) et du vide qu’entraîne tout bouleversement (Gabia).
