Palestine Stories
Een groot deel van het Kaaitheaterteam, de kunstenaars waarmee we werken en het publiek dat naar onze voorstellingen komt, heeft een nauwe band met (mensen in) Palestina en Israël. Al deze mensen vormen de brede community van Kaaitheater.
Samen zien we hoe angst, woede en rouw ons en vele anderen in onze communities verlammen.
De komende weken versterken we de stemmen van Palestijnse en Israëlische artiesten uit de brede Kaaitheatercommunity op onze social media en website. We verspreiden verhalen en informatie en creëren zo mee bewustwording.

Samah Hijawi stond op 17 en 18/10 in De Kriekelaar met haar diner-voorstelling Holy Cow & the Pomegranate: Sumac. In deze reeks bijt ze de spits af.
Samah: "I know it can be overwhelming, depressing and debilitating when we watch the death and destruction. So here is something concrete you can do: donate to one of the organisations of Build Palestine"

Framer Framed is een platform voor hedendaagse kunst, visuele cultuur, kritische theorie en praktijken gevestigd in Amsterdam.
Voor hun laatste podcast nodigde Framer Framed Shahd Hammouri uit, docent Rechten aan de Universiteit van Kent. Ze spreekt over hoe de woorden van de voormalige Chileense president Salvador Allende mensen over de hele wereld een stem gaven. Ze legt een link met de voortdurende Palestijnse strijd voor bevrijding en zelfbeschikking. Luister hier

The mixtape Learning Palestine _ Until Liberation, broadcasted a.o. via Radio Alhara, is a 12 hours sound program created from content downloaded from Youtube “interweaving songs, poems, music, chants, talks, discussions, presentations, and conversations by many, many singers, intellectuals, academics, researchers, musicians, students, and fighters to teach, tell, inform, and to understand the history, the present, and reality of the ongoing struggle for justice and liberation for Palestine”.
