Un parcours désopilant
Pour sa première comédie musicale, la compagnie new-yorkaise Nature Theater of Oklahoma s’attaque à la biographie de l’une de ses membres : Kristin Worrall a raconté toute sa vie au téléphone et a ainsi – littéralement ! – fourni le livret de la pièce. Cela donne un parcours en montagnes russes, parfois émouvant, d’autres fois désopilant, le long de bribes de mémoire, de moments de compréhension, d’inspirations soudaines et de pensées errantes. La trame de ses histoires nous ramène lentement vers les moments qui ont fait de nous qui nous sommes, et nous replonge ainsi dans les strates les plus enfouies de notre propre histoire. Cette première partie nous emmène au début de l’enfance.
● Life and Times – Episode 1 est le premier volet d’une grande épopée : 16 heures d’enregistrement généreront au bout du compte – si tout va bien – un spectacle de 24 heures, divisé en 10 épisodes. Un vaste portrait d’une vie banale, un voyage épique dans la ligne d’À la recherche du temps perdu de Proust. C’est le dernier spectacle d’une série pour laquelle le Nature Theater of Oklahoma s’est servi de conversations téléphoniques comme texte source. Le Kaaitheater a présenté la série complète : No Dice, Rambo Solo et Romeo and Juliet.
