Het TheaterFestival commences with festive and critical speeches: The State of the Union by a a renowned artist, The State of the Youth by a young inspiring voice and The State of the Other offers a more international perspective. This year, The State of the Union is pronounced by Fabrice Murgia, director of Théâtre National in Brussels. The State of the Young came from Anne Breure, artistic director of Veem House For Performance (Amsterdam). The State of the Other was pronounced by Tiago Rodrigues, theatre maker and director of Teatro National D. Maria II in Lisbon.
