On 23 November 2024, Jewish diaspora and queer collective Shabbes 24/7 will present The Havdalah Cabaret - A Sacred Profane Cabaret! at the Kaaistudios. At the same time, they are launching their new zine, in which Havdalah is also the common thread.

Shabbes 24/7 is looking for contributions from queer Jews with ties in Belgium who share our feminist and diasporic values.

Tell us about your personal Havdalah practice or what the distinction between Shabbat and the new week means to you on a metaphorical level. How do you think about rituals? What do ‘holy’ and ‘profane’ mean to you? What endings and beginnings are most difficult or just happiest for you? What do you find queer and transformative about spices, fire and overflowing glasses of wine?
