(Staying) in the Movement

Festival

How to stay in the movement... and have real impact in times of corona?
How to stay in the movement... when we can’t come together to make a fist?
How to stay in the movement... and join other movements for a common cause?
How to stay in the movement... and stay engaged without burning ourselves out?
How to stay in the movement... and remain strong, safe, and sane?

To start off the new year, Kaaitheater is inviting activists academics, and other allies to explore these pressing questions during an online programme of lectures and conversations. This programme emerged from the very needs and interests of some engaged citizens and movements in Brussels.

We’re living in a time of many crises that seem inextricably linked to one another. How can we fight this many-headed Hydra? How can we sustain personal and collective engagement in the long run? How can we avoid people burning themselves out on their commitments? And how to become so many and loud that we would become impossible to ignore? Can an art institution play a useful role alongside them – with true care?
