Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods
Solos and duets
21.04 – 23.04.2022
Solos and duets is a compiled programme that offers a unique insight into Meg Stuart's oeuvre, which continues to grow, live and transform. Starting from old and new material, she builds an evening with existing solos and duets (Signs of Affection, Inflamável), in combination with fragments from full-length performances (No One is Watching, Built to Last, UNTIL OUR HEARTS STOP).
You see writhing bodies in a desolate landscape, hands and a head moving to the rhythm of an explosive drum solo, and a playful duet in which two women take control of their identity and the viewer's gaze. This is the perfect opportunity to take a journey through Stuart's oeuvre, often as abstract as it is recognizable, as subdued as it is energetic.
• In 1994 the American choreographer Meg Stuart founded her company Damaged Goods, which since 1998 has been based in Brussels at Kaaitheater. Over the past 25 years, she has created more than 30 productions, the majority of which on the Kaai stage.
'In Solos and duets, Meg Stuart presents five pieces from her work - a delight, fascinating and full of variety.' - DIE PRESSE
