Heartquake

dance
14—15.02.2025

How do you envision a future when the ground beneath you is constantly shifting, altering your dreams and plans? In a land where ancient cities were destroyed by earthquakes, how can one build when everything seems destined to collapse? How can you trust institutions, structures built of concrete, when everything continues to fall apart? In these moments, what remains is the support we give each other and the relentless resilience of humanity. Perhaps this dynamic even offers an explanation for the prolonged presence of one political figure.

Anxieties are not merely born from political situations—perhaps all anxieties are inherently political. Corinth, the birthplace of Sisyphus, is one of the most seismically active regions in Europe, symbolizing the never-ending struggle between hope and destruction.

• Ekin Tunçeli is a freelance dance artist who creates contemporary dance-based productions with an understanding of interdisciplinary art design, blending the familiar and the unusual by using individual subjects, objects and popular images. Besides being a choreographer, she is a contemporary dancer, singer, actress and performer. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and has a BA in Contemporary Dance from MSGSÜ State Conservatory in İstanbul. She organizes improvisation meetings with klank.ist, a community working on interdisciplinary music projects, open to artists from all disciplines.
