Leçons de Ténèbres | IT'S EXTRA
IT'S EXTRA invites you to stay a little longer and experience something extra. Artists guide you through the universe of their performance and use different forms for doing this: a chat with a drink among the décor, immerse yourself in an afterparty discussion or debate, do a workshop or let yourself go on the dance floor!

On Saturday 17/12, a Back2SoilBasics session will be hosted as the IT’S EXTRA programme for Betty Tchomanga’s Leçons de ténèbres.
For Back2SoilBasics, traditional and indigenous knowledge starts with the connection and the appreciation of what nature has to offer us in our direct environment – in this case an urban context.
B2SB proposes the gathering session “medicinal plants are everywhere” and invites you to look for these herbs in the garden of De Kriekelaar and its surroundings. These herbs will then be brewed on a fire burned with intentions.
Just like being an important element in Betty Tchomanga’s piece, fire is omnipresent in many rituals. It has been a powerful close friend of human being, since long. A friend we seem to have lost our close connection with. Therefore B2SB finds it important to re-establish a healthy relationship with this element, and invites Adeola Naomi to guide us through a vocal release ritual around the fire that we have lit together.
After Tchomanga’s performance, the medicinal tea will be infused with the medicinal herb, our intentions and absorbing the energy of the piece. Warming our souls during the darker nights.
• Back2SoilBasics started with a monthly Sunday session aiming to make permaculture accessible for minority groups in Brussels. This, as an answer on mostly predominantly white ecological space. They look for accessibility being a majority in their own circle, finding practices that make permaculture and ecology rather practical and visual than let it be too theoretical. They found empowerment in experience and peer-to-peer, circular information sharing!
Elke avond van 19:00 tot 20:30 kan je genieten van een vegetarische maaltijd bereid door het Comité des femmes sans papiers.
