In the Hands of Puppets

Welcome to our creative spa. Inhale deeply the mist that is slowly enveloping you.
In a pink lit space, two young women sit or lie on rubber mats. A fragrant mist reminds you of pine cones and resin, while soft, trance-like music plays. In this performance about information fast food, vanity, fiction and the urge for affirmation, the artistic duo Sarah & Charles goes in search of the ultimate form of submission. In an age in which social media and the internet are expanding our view of the world, our minds appear to be narrowing emotionally. The more we know, the less we understand. The performers invite you to a creative wellness centre where you can put your decision-making on hold.
• The Brussels-based artistic duo Sarah & Charles studied at the HISK. Their work is multidisciplinary: from installations, sculptures and videos to soundscapes, performances and photography. ‘Make-believe’, stories within stories, psychology and entertainment are their primary sources of inspiration. Over the past few years, they have worked intensively to integrate art into public space. This summer, the art platform Be-Part will present the exhibition version of In the Hands of Puppets.
