Tentative Assembly (the tent piece)
Brussels-American dancer and choreographer Eleanor Bauer is a fast-emerging talent on the international dance scene. Her work is an intelligent, humorous reflection of the modern world. Tentative Assembly (the tent piece) is the second part of a trilogy that began with A Dance for the Newest Age (the triangle piece), created last year at the Kaaitheater. In her new piece, Bauer looks at alternative ways of living together. She uses body, dance and movement to bring performers and audience together, enabling them to create a common experiential space. A place for a brief meeting, a utopia, where every individual action enables the creation of new collective formations.
Eleanor Bauer (1983) took courses at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York and PARTS in Brussels. She has among other things created the hilarious solo ELEANOR! and (BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS), a ‘stunning solo exploration of performance art’ (De Morgen) and has also toured in The Song by Rosas and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. A Dance for the Newest Age (the triangle piece) premiered at the Kaaitheater last season, was immediately received with great enthusiasm and can be seen here again this season.
