End (rerun)
Machines and people
Melting glaciers, burning forests, cities under water, screens and cameras spying on us, weapons of mass destruction... End starts out from the images the media project onto our retinas. The performance artist Kris Verdonck shows the possible final stages of a human society in ten scenes that are linked by a monologue by a speaking character (Johan Leysen). On stage: machines and people or a combination of the two. Projected video images by Anouk Declercq and interactive media create a moving landscape, and to this are added a soundscape by Stefan Quix and a lightscape by Luc Schaltin. Art and theatre meet in this performance: sitting in the theatre, the audience looks at a series of linked installations.
