The final-year students at the P.A.R.T.S. dance school in Brussels – which is this year celebrating its tenth anniversary – will be presenting their graduation projects at the Beursschouwburg and in the Kaaitheater Studios.

In the Studios they will be presenting two separate programmes, each of which will be shown on two evenings. They will be showing their own work and creations by guest choreographers. A varied evening on which the differing definitions of dance will be explored and the choreographers of the future will be knocking at the audience’s door.

Dès que le spectacle commence tout ce qui est donné au public est donné au jugement :
Ce que la lumière des projecteurs nous montre, mais aussi les gestes incontrollés que l'on cherche à dissimuler.
"Interprète, avez-vous quelque chose a rajouter pour votre defence?"
En fait, toute critique juge la capacité et l'incapacité que le performer a à contrôler ce même jugement...

In this repertory project, the students learned basic phrase material from Trisha Brown’s Lateral pass (1985), which was then transformed  and rearranged, and finally set to a different music, improvised live.

ELEANOR! - personal work

ELEANOR! (2004) is a critical portrait of the frenetic success drive that consumes a self-producing artist to the point where the survival-based need to promote oneself overrides artistic integrity. In this self-economization, the artist takes on several identities and vocations in order to serve an increasingly obscured desire to create. Through a "gently schizophrenic" web of interrelated activities that support and feed off of each other, the art, the artist, and the promotion fade into one.

Love. Death. My life with Tin-Yu. Oh wait, I am you. - graduation work

This (intensely fake) piece (that pretends to be) about real life is an autobiographical drama (made without a single thought towards dramaturgy).  The performers portray (underdeveloped) characters in a (confusing and unstructured) storyline that (goes nowhere as it) keeps unfolding.  Funny and (not so) physical, 'My (awful) life with Ting-Yu' will keep you (unsure of why you are) laughing and wondering (if you should get up and leave).
