Suite n° 4
Opgelet: deze voorstelling is afgelast om de verspreiding van het nieuwe coronavirus tegen te gaan.
In het eerste deel van Suite n° 4 overlappen herkenbare en anonieme stemmen elkaar alsof ze uit verschillende akoestische ruimtes komen. In het tweede deel worden de stemmen vergezeld door acht muzikanten van Ictus. In steeds wisselende constellaties – laverend tussen akoestisch en elektronisch – tonen ze hun muzikale flexibiliteit. Met deze laatste Suite brengt het collectief Encyclopédie de la parole een voorstelling over afwezigheid, zoals een opera zonder zangers of een theater zonder acteurs. Ondanks deze fysieke afwezigheid zijn de personages voelbaar aanwezig. Als geesten keren ze terug van een verre plek, en laten hun stem horen. Gedurende 150 minuten klinken duizend concrete situaties in meer dan 30 talen. Bereid je voor op een mentale trip die alle middelen van het theater aanwendt. Hoezeer is onze dagelijkse werkelijkheid verweven met recent én oeroud discours?
• Het collectief Encyclopédie de la parole onderzoekt het gesproken woord in al zijn vormen. Regisseur Joris Lacoste tekende ook voor de eerste drie Suites, die elk op een virtuoze manier opgenomen stemmen tot leven wekken. De drie vorige delen waren eveneens te zien tijdens het Kunstenfestivaldesarts. Het Brusselse muziekensemble Ictus is een vaste waarde in het Kaaitheaterprogramma. Eerder dit seizoen presenteren ze ook het ‘ademhalingsconcert’ Pneuma.
